Each week we are featuring a couple of our now published authors, and inviting them to answer 7 questions about their writing and inspirations. They have all contributed to our first eBook, Tales From The Cafe: Vol 1, details of which are posted on our home page. Our latest interview features Nicola Collins. You can also find out a little more about Nicola on her author page…
Q1 Give us some background on yourself?
Slave to the city and three adult children, part-time failed domestic queen and surrounded by people I love.
Q2 What was the basis for your story in Tales from the Cafe, Vol 1?
As soon as I saw the prompts Prison and Letter (the latter didn’t end up featuring in my story), the image of a woman sitting on a bench outside the prison in my home town formed immediately and it grew from there.

I lose myself when I write and feel at home.
Q4 Any advice for fledgling authors?
Just write and then write some more and surround yourself with other writers for support and feedback
Q5 What authors do you like and admire?
Margaret Attwood, Sylvia Plath, Alice Hoffman
Q6 What do you do when you’re not writing fiction?
Work and read
Q7 What will you do if you become famous?
Enjoy it and then pray for anonymity again
